Who we are
GofShof is an app for learning Sylheti. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use it, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, and a display name and avatar if you sign in with Google.
- Learning data — lessons and dialogues completed, quiz accuracy, vocabulary and verb-form strengths, your daily plan, and preferences such as audio autoplay and text size.
- Onboarding answers — your stated motivation and familiarity with Sylheti, used to tailor the course.
- Feedback — anything you send us through “Report an issue”, along with the screen you sent it from.
- Subscription status — plan, trial and renewal dates, and identifiers from our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.
How we use it
To give you an account, save your progress, schedule spaced repetition, provide support, process subscriptions, and fix bugs. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the app: our hosting and database provider (which also handles sign-in and stores your progress) and Stripe for payments. Each processes your data on our instructions. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Legal basis and retention
We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the service), on the basis of legitimate interests (keeping the app secure and improving it), and with your consent where you have given it. We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
Your rights
You can view and edit your details in Profile, change your email or password in Settings, and delete your account at any time — deletion removes your profile, progress, and learning history and cannot be undone. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, export, or restrict use of your data.
Children
GofShof is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Cookies and local storage
We use only what the app needs to work: a sign-in session token and small preferences stored in your browser (for example whether you have seen the app tour). There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date above. To ask a question or make a request about your data, use “Report an issue” in Settings and we will get back to you.
