Notice the pattern

  • niAdd ni to the end of a sentence to make a yes/no question: Afne bala asoin → Afne bala asoin ni?
  • asiMatch the verb to the person: asi for “I am”, asoin for “you are” (respectful).
  • -oAttach -o to mean “too”: ami-o = “me too”.
About the audio · Every line is recorded by a Sylheti speaker, so you hear the real rhythm and intonation.

Familiar words. Hard-to-find replies.

You recognise the expressions. You catch parts of the conversation. But when it’s your turn, finding the words can be harder — or you might be starting from the very beginning. GofShof gives you a place to listen, practise and turn what sounds familiar into something you can say.

  • Joining in on a family call
  • Answering more than yes or no
  • Asking something back

Questions

Do I need to read Bengali script?
No. Everything is taught in English with Sylheti written in simple, consistent Roman letters.
I understand some Sylheti but struggle to reply. Is this for me?
Yes. You can take a quick placement check to skip what you already know, and the writing practice is all about producing your own replies.
Is the audio real?
Yes — recorded by a Sylheti speaker, so you hear how the words are actually said.
Which languages can I learn?
Sylheti, Urdu and Hindi are available now, and one subscription covers them all. Bengali and Punjabi are planned for future releases.
